My dad sent this to me as a joke. Cocaine is one hell of a drug. lol I like the color as well as the creativity, but watching it kind of freaked me out. It’s overly happy, like a really happy performance before your body gets ripped to pieces, like the little monsters playing with the fuzzy blue teddy bear in Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. “We want to be friends, Sally…friends…come down to the basement, Sally, so we can be friends…” with a horrible, sick twisted giggle. lol

I finally downloaded The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. : ) I’m very excited. If I like this book, I’ll read the others.

A lot of people remark that they find me extremely intelligent based on my language and knowledge. I hear this and I find it interesting because I’m not more intelligent than anyone else. I feel like the black peppered moth always landing on the soot to avoid the predatory birds. That’s all. I will adapt to fit the environment.

I’m really slow at reading. I comprehend what I read, but I take my time because I have a difficult time moving quickly. My use of grammar is a result of enculturation and having a family who trained me to look stuff up if I didn’t know what a particular concept or word meant. We created my adult mind piled with factoids and a secretly competitive desire to be right (though I’m not, I have as many fallacies as the next person). The problem with knowing a little about a lot of things is that information is constantly changing and it’s sometimes exhausting to keep up. I wonder why I keep my textbooks because next semester, a more updated and revised version with more recent discoveries will be printed and in a few months, I’ll be somewhat out of the know.

Having a more complex vocabulary and being able to remember bullshit from a textbook does not satisfy me as an accurate definition of intelligence. What do I know though? I’m just the student. We’re all students of life, lucky enough to comprehend and examine our self-awareness thanks to an asteroid and millions of years of mammalian evolution- in theory, of course, because that darn information is constantly shifting. ; )

The Titan Arum (Amorphophallus titanum), at Kew Gardens in London, has finally opened! This species, from western Sumatra in Indonesia, has the largest floral structure in the world (its not a single flower, but many flowers in one structure, called an inflorescence). To find out more… visit KEW GARDENS.

Sometimes, I really hate facing my own brain, but I have to. I have no choice if I want to move beyond my fear.

I freakin’ love Netflix. I can watch horror movie after horror movie and it’s AWESOME. : )

If you don’t have a Nook, Kindle or an iPad, you need to get one. I usually read at a slower pace, but I’ve found that I read much faster on my Nook. It’s awesome and the e-ink is really easy on your eyes. You can knock out a few books in a few days. : )

Adam Levine can save me from a pretend bank robbery any day! Sigh…so hot… : P

I’ve had this song stuck in my brain all day.

“Would I Be The One” - Sean Lennon

This is my first original piece of modern art! I know it’s very Pollock-like mixed with international style. I’m exploring what I like and so far I’ve having fun doing it. I’m so happy!!!!
